Fans of Diet Coke, your beloved beverage may be harder to come by soon. Coca-Cola says coronavirus has disrupted its supply chain and artificial sweeteners from China may be in shorter supply.
That means production and exports have been delayed for the sugar alternatives used in Diet Coke, Coke Zero and other Coca-Cola products, like Powerade Zero.
"We have initiated contingency supply plans and do not foresee a short-term impact due to these delays," Coca-Cola explains in an annual report released this week. "However, we may see tighter supplies of some of these ingredients in the longer term should production or export operations in China deteriorate."
