Dan + Shay took the TODAY Show stage — decked with perfectly-decorated Christmas trees and piles of presents — to perform a festive rendition of their latest holiday song on Wednesday morning (November 30). The award-winning country duo delivered an upbeat rendition of “Holiday Party,” which they released earlier this month to kick off the holiday season:

“We'll throw a holiday party/ Don't tell anybody/ We'll pour us a drink and hang some lights on the tree/ We'll be jingle bell rockin’/ ’Til the neighbors come knockin’/ So turn up the fire, playin' on the TV/ Watchin' for Santa from the top of the roof/ While we're wrapped up in a blanket for two/ We'll throw a holiday party/ Holiday party/ For just me and you”

Dan + Shay — best friend duo Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney — released “Holiday Party” in early November, and recently premiered the music video, featuring their wives, Abby Smyers and Hannah Mooney. Dan + Shay proved in that video that they know how to throw the perfect Christmas party, even in under an hour.

Dan + Shay returned to the TODAY Show stage later in the morning to perform “Take Me Home For Christmas,” which debuted in 2020. With a growing number of holiday singles, TODAY Show anchors couldn’t help but wonder whether the award-winning duo would release a full-length Christmas album someday. Though Smyers and Mooney didn’t confirm that a holiday collection would release, Mooney — whose family eagerly decorated for Christmas the day after Halloween — acknowledged, “I feel like at this point we’ve gathered enough songs… we’re definitely working on something coming up soon.” Mooney also spoke on the show about his recent health journey after losing more than 50 pounds, and his family’s excitement as he and his wife prepare to welcome their third son in early 2023.

Dan + Shay’s TODAY Show performances happened hours before the “Glad You Exist” artists are set to perform during the two-hour Christmas in Rockefeller Center special, as NBC marks 90 years of the annual tree lighting ceremony on Wednesday evening. The live show will feature performances by artists spanning musical genres, including fellow country artists Jimmie Allen, Brett Eldredge, Mickey Guyton, Blake Shelton and more. It’s set to kick off at 8 p.m. ET.
