Karen Muñoz is a Philadelphia-based radio personality, communicator, and media professional with more than a decade of experience in Spanish-language media.
Karen began her radio career in 2011 at La Única 1680 AM in Philadelphia before joining WEMG La Mega 1310 AM, where she became part of popular programs including El Show de la Mañana and Mega en tus Mañanas. She later served as the Philadelphia local producer and correspondent for El Show de Luis Jiménez, providing local traffic, weather, community coverage, and content for the Philadelphia market while working closely with the nationally recognized program.
Her experience extends beyond radio into television and film, including work with Telemundo 62’s Actualidad Informativa and appearances in Carmesí de Mariposa and Ocea’s & Gomer. In 2021, Karen created Bien por Encima con La Srta. Karen, a digital platform featuring conversations and interviews with artists, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and influential voices.
A familiar and trusted presence throughout Philadelphia’s Hispanic community, Karen has hosted and participated in countless community events, concerts, festivals, and cultural celebrations throughout the region. Her ability to connect authentically with audiences—both on and off the air—has become a defining part of her career.
Now, Karen begins an exciting new chapter with WUMR Rumba 106.1 FM and iHeartRadio Philadelphia, joining Program Director and PM Drive Host Jonathan Tineo (Deejay Jonathan) as his on-air co-host while also taking on a weekend shift.
Karen brings a unique combination of radio experience, personality, community connection, and genuine passion for her audience. For her, this new chapter is more than a return to commercial radio, it is an opportunity to reconnect with the Philadelphia audience she loves and bring her authentic energy to a new generation of listeners.
