Philadelphia could be the setting for yet another television series.
ABC has ordered a pilot episode for a drama series about a therapy practice based in Philly, "This Is Us" is one show already set partly in Philadelphia, and it's writer and director since 2016, Kay Oyegun is writing the new pilot.
The show, so far untitled, would follow five therapists who find creative ways to treat their patients while dealing with struggles in their own personal lives.
"Abbott Elementary", the sitcom that debuted last year and chronicles a group of teachers working at an underfunded Philadelphia public school, has become a hit for ABC. In fact, the show was hailed by critics and became ABC's first comedy to quadruple it's ratings after the pilot episode aired. Now, the network may pick up this new Philly-centric show that would join a long-list of ABC shows that have been set in and around Philly, like The Goldbergs, Boy Meets World, How to Get Away With Murder, Cold Case, Thirtysomething, This Is Us, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia…and of course the latest one..Abbott Elementary.
